Course Overview:

Welcome and Thank You for your interests in learning Permanent Makeup from me. Teaching a topic which I love from my heart is a true passion. I hope it will become yours too.

Carolyn Elliott Permanent Makeup, Inc

Teaching the art, passion & professionalism of Permanent Makeup

Who am I? I am a highly trained, highly skilled, Internationally renowned Certified Permanent Makeup Professional and Life-time Member of the SPCP.

I have been a Cosmetic Tattooist since 1998. Each year, I seek out the worlds best masters to learn their special
techniques www.carolyn-elliott.com/education. It’s not uncommon for me to take over 60 hours of continuing education and spend between $15,000 – $20,000 annually on “my training”. If “you” are looking for above standard training, art and
people are your passion and you are willing to work hard at learning a very technical skill correctly the first time around, this is your place. My students score high 90% in their CPCP exams.

I’ve been an artist since I was 4 years old specializing in water color painting. I am also a Nurse and a Professional Pilot with credentials in teaching. My attention to details is to the Nth degree.

In my Fundamental Training Course, I teach in a manner which give you the strongest foundation, building you towards being a knowledgable and confident professional in Permanent Cosmetics. I follow the curriculum laid out by the SPCP “Society of Permanent Cosmetics Professionals.” Prepare to work and study hard. My courses are not easy, I expect you to work hard and challenge yourself for your success.

In this one week, 100 hours training course, you’ll be learning the skills of developing the basic techniques in Eyebrows (you must be able to draw on eyebrows prior to class) and in Eyelash Enhancement. Advanced Courses in the Hair-stroke Eyebrows, Color Correction, Dramatic and Designer Eyeliners, Full Lip Color are available after you complete your Fundamentals Training.

Prior to our hands-on training, you’ll learn a variety of topics like proper Safe Practices for Permanent Cosmetic Technicians, Hepatitis and MRSA, Skin Anatomy, Eye Anatomy, Muscles of the Face, Choosing the right client (like I choose the right students), Choosing the right needles, Documenting & Maintaining Client Files, Identifying Skin Undertones and
Pigment Selection Analysis, Working with Fitzpatrick III-VI Skin Types, Traditional Color Theory, Selecting Pigments, Basic Facial Morphology and Placement of Procedures, Pain and Anesthetics, The Healing Process, Herpes Complex & Permanent Makeup, Medical Conditions & Permanent Makeup, MRI & Permanent Makeup and more. Then, I’ll teach you to how to properly tattoo.

The Four Training Phases

  1. The Evaluation, and first half of deposit required.
  2. Pre-study (home-study) includes all your books and study material to prepare you for your. The second half of your deposit is required. Blood Borne Pathogens Online Course to be completed on your time prior to the first day of class. Multiply Choice Exam to be given prior to starting theory.
  3. Theory; practice pads (in my office) and lecture. Some meetings can be set up on Skype.
  4. Practical: technical aspects, along with Live Models.
Stage 1: Evaluation

In The Evaluation, I will include a file with B/W photos of faces. I recommend printing two of each photo and putting them into a binder designated for Permanent Makeup. You’ll be drawing only on one set for now. Please draw Eyebrows on these ladies. Every one of them needs help. Do not be in a hurry. Take your time. No one gets to help you. Get these back to me for evaluation within 1 week.

Part Two of The Evaluation – On another paper, I’d like for you to write a full page, single space, 500 word essay, 1. “Why I Want To Become a Permanent Makeup Professional?” On another page, just answer these questions. 2. What is your background in art? 3. Would there any reason why you would need to cancel a scheduled training lesson? If yes, please explain. 5. Two students have approached me at the same time for teaching. I can only take one. Why should I choose you over the other?

Once accepted into my program, 50% of the Tuition ($4250 of $8500) will be required at that time along with signing your student contract. Your books and supplies will be ordered. The remaining deposit will be due when your books are picked up and assignment received.

Stage 2: Pre-Study Phase

The Pre-Study Phase is completed at home. This counts as 35-hours of your requirements. You will be expected to go through your book, workbook and study manuals. I ask that you take this time and seriously study as if you were taking a college course (I recommend reading your main book and study guide twice). There will be a multiple choice exam prior to starting the third phase. Be prepared for 5 question pop quizzes when we meet. They can be verbal or written. You will learn from these.

Second half of your deposit is due.

Before the start of the 3rd phase, you will need to take your online Bloodborne Pathogen Course. This course takes about 4 hours to complete and is not included in the tuition. Click here to open their website in a new tab. As a Permanent Makeup Professional, this course will be required annually and displayed in your work area at all times. Do not wait to the last minute to do this course.

Stage 3: Theory

Day 1-4 (Theory – Basic Fundamentals of Permanent Makeup).

On the last day of the Fundamentals, you will take a 100 question Permanent MakeUp Final Exam.

You must pass this exam to receive your fundamentals training certificate.

Stage 4: Practical

On Day 5-7 (Practical Techniques). You will be introduced to the machine on Day 5 and practice of Latex, learning the proper depth and light-handedness

On Day 6-7, During the Technical/Live Model Days will work on 2 live models (1 model each day). This is where it all
comes together.

When you have completed each required task to the standards appropriate per the SPCP guidelines, you will receive a “Certificate of Completion”. Completing the Fundamentals Course doesn’t not mean you are a Fully-trained Permanent Makeup Artist or “Certified Permanent Makeup Professional” (CPCP). It simply means you completed a course in Fundamentals Training in those specific areas which you were trained in. You will need to take an additional examination with the SPCP to become “Certified.” I highly recommend becoming a member of this fantastic organization. We will talk more about how to become a CPCP. Receiving your Fundamentals Training does NOT give you the entitlement to offer Advanced Procedures to clients. Until you have received the additional hours and training specific to that technique, you are not to be doing these procedures – it is a huge disservice to the client. When you feel ready to continue your training, sign up for Advanced Training.

  • After completing your training, you will receive a 65 hour Training Certificate of completion for Permanent Makeup Fundamentals Training and a 35 hour Training Certificate of completion for the procedures you worked on. We do not certify for Permanent Makeup Artist.

**Please check with your local state and county regulations, as every county is different.**

  • Your tuition includes: SPCP handbook and workbook, training manuals, kit to supply you for 10 procedures, hands-on training, certificates for Fundamental and Eyebrows & Eyelash Enhancement training completion, lunches, One Bonus Shadow day, and LIFE LONG SUPPORT!
Optional Training

Optional: During your course, if/when it is offered, I highly recommend you sign up for an extracurricular class on Color Theory as it is a very difficult topic for most beginner to grasp. This is why there are so many incorrectly colored brows walking around. When they become available, I will let you know. This is not included in your tuition and it is lightly touched on in the curriculum.

Once you have completed your program, I have not left your side. I am still here to support you and answer your questions. Go out there and build your confidence. After you have completed at least 100 procedures of each Eyebrows, and Eyelash Enhancements, you can move onto the Advanced Courses: The Hair-stroke Brows, Dramatic Eyeliner, Smokey Eyeliner, EyeShadows and Lips. These two-day specialty courses can costs around $2500. Thank you for you interest. Let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Carolyn Elliott CPCP, SPCP, Trainer
